I spread word of this on tumblr, but figured it was time to spread the word here too.

There is currently a kickstarter going on in which they are raising funds to run a documentary on Carrol Spinney. Who is he? He is the man who has played both Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch on Sesame Street since 1969. So, in other words, THIS MAN IS CHILDHOOD for a lot of people.

They have 17 days left to raise the money and I really hope they reach their goal because this looks like it would be an awesome documentary.

I Am Big Bird Kickstarter

Even if you can't offer money for this, try to spread the word at least, because it would be sad if this kickstarter didn't reach it's goal.

How is it that I never heard of The Muppets Classic Theater until now? Bascially, it seems the Muppets act out three fairytales as a play.

I just watch they're retelling Rumpelstiltskin one and I have to give them points with out the figured out what his name is. XD It's not amazing, but it's a cute retelling

Today I had the day off, so Mom and I used the day to get a couple of things done for the wedding. The big thing is that we got the wedding invitations ordered and they should be printed by next week. They're very simple and elegant, I love.

I also got a Disney song book for me to walk down the aisle and when Stu and I signed the wedding register. I've been debating and keep changing my mind on what the music should be, but I think we settled on playing Bella Notte after Stu and I are married, and just to have a variety of Disney love songs playing when I walk down. My cousin is a great piano player so I know she'll be able to pull it off easily.

Mom and I figured the guests can have fun trying to recognize each song that's playing, besides it fits since Stu and I are going to Disney World for our honeymoon.

Also, since I've come to the conclusion that I can't wear contacts to save my life (seriously, my blinking reaction is just too strong) so I decided to get non-reflective lenses for my glasses. The best part is that they were half priced today which is great, so now I don't have to worry about light reflecting from my glasses for photos. I told Stu in case he wanted to get them too, but he said he doesn't care about that. Typical guy reaction. XP

So, we got quite a few things scratched off the list. Still need to pick songs to play at the reception, make a seating plan and a few other variant things.

I can't believe the wedding is just 4-5 months away. Time is flying by.

And on an unrelated note, I ended up rewatching Jim Henson's The Frog Prince on youtube. I wish this, and the other Jim Henson fairytales, would get release onto DVD. The Frog Prince was actually rather clever. The princess is under a spell that causes her to speak backwards, the witch wants to become queen, also Kermit is way more sarcastic in these fairytale specials than he is now. Oh, Jim Henson, you were great for so many reason.

Jim Henson's Frog Prince also had something Disney's The Princess and The Frog was seriously lacking. A battle of the frogs tackling the main villain! I always loved that part as a kid. XD

Here's part 1, parts 2-5 are easily found on youtube.

Okay, I think this is an awesome idea.

Since Eddie Murphy pulled out of hosting the Oscars, there is now viral campaign to get the Muppets to host the oscars.

There's a nice article about it here

I already added their twitter account to my following. I realize this is a long shot, but it would be awesome to see Kermit, Piggy and all the other Muppets hosting the oscars. *crosses fingers

For those who don't know, Boom Comics have been releasing a Muppet Fairy Tales series in which the muppets retells famous stories in their own muppet fashion.

They just finished doing Snow White, which was probably one of the best ones done so far. However, next month they're going to be doing Sherlock Holmes with Gonzo playing Sherlock. XD Is it wrong for me to think that's just perfect?

For those interested, you can see a preview of the comic HERE

Also, it's being drawn by Amy Mebberson the awesome artist that did the Thorn webcomic

With the muppet fairy tales, the Darkwing Duck comics and getting the paperback issue of Sky Doll, I've been becoming much more of a comic reader lately. ^_^

After a 2 year wait, I was finally able to get my hands on the second season of the Muppet Show. I think they did a good job putting the DVD together, although there was one thing that annoyed me. They didn't put on the Pop up trivia like they did for the first season. I guess they didn't do it because they had enough trouble with trying to find the rights for the songs and such although surely they could have found the time during a 2 year late However, there were other fun things on it. One being having an interview with the Muppets themselves, I thought it was cute.

Although, [livejournal.com profile] secondlina it turns out that Renge and Animal have something in common. They both love bunnies. XD Also, I did managed to draw some Wicked Witch/Captin Hook. XP It's just a rough sketch, but I'll probably post it again once I got it ink and colour it.
